Who I Am.

Film. Folly. Fortitude. In the next paragraph you’ll learn the totality of Sean Shapiro. The triumphs, the setbacks, the scandalous love (not really). This is his story. The E! True Hollywood Story.
Born on the mean streets of Baltimore, Sean quickly found the first two loves of his life: movies and books. Exposed to a wide variety of material, properly and improperly suited for his age (seeing a sneak preview of Saving Private Ryan at the ripe age of 11 and being exposed to the gratuitously violent yet socially-satirical Robocop at an even younger age as just two examples), he sponged all of the appropriate and inappropriate pop culture that he could.

Reading voraciously, watching voluminously, Sean knew a career in creativity was forthcoming. He chose film school as his obsessions with the likes of Paul Thomas Anderson and Stanley Kubrick grew to a fever pitch. These wild ambitions whisked him to the dreamland of Los Angeles for 10 years during which time he made movies with friends, wrote scripts, assisted low-level TV actors, and immersed himself in the film culture, yet made no real progress on the creative impact that he once aspired to. Then the pandemic hit. Lives changed. People changed. Sean…was in need of a change. As fate would have it, a part-time fashion copywriting gig propelled him to new aspirations. Inquiring more into the world of copywriting, Sean found Denver Ad School. And with that, he picked up his boxes of books and DVD’s along with his cat named Boy and drove to Denver to start anew, with a bold, exciting trajectory into the unknown abyss that is the world of advertising. What is next? Only time will tell.

A few of my favorite movies…
